Abu Dhabi Wedding Party
As Matt and I saw in the New Year 2016 in Paris we declared the year to be our year of celebration. And it certainly has been. As 2016 draws towards its close, next Friday, 7 October, brings with it our third and final wedding celebration. This one will take place at home here in Abu Dhabi. So, what you might ask, have we planned? Well, we have invited 20 of our best friends to join us at our favourite restaurant, Zuma, in our hometown Abu Dhabi for brunch. And then, as if 5 hours of enjoying top shelf Japanese food and the best French sparkling beverage is not enough, we will all decamp to our home for sunset cocktails and some good chilled out sounds. With it being late summer, I'm loving José Padilla Corona Sunsets at the moment so that is definitely on our playlist.
What to wear
This was not really a hard choice. I've decided to wear my exquisite Galia Lahav wedding dress, again. And I cannot wait. Getting to wear your wedding dress twice is certainly one of the benefits of having multiple weddings. In preparation, my gorgeous gown has been dry cleaned this week. As I'm sure you can imagine I wanted to watch over them whilst they cleaned it. Sanity prevailed and I left them to it and thankfully they have done a fantastic job.
I've had my hair up for our Italian wedding. I've had my hair 1/2 up for our New Zealand wedding. Now, here in the land of sand I'm still pondering over what to do with it. For sure I will get my hair blow-dried and curled on Thursday at my local blow-bar; trying to get a salon/ stylist before 12pm on a Friday is quite literally impossible here. So, the best I can do is the night before. I will wear a hair net (very attractive - no fear about Matt seeing me like this; we're already married; twice) and sleep with my head hanging off the bed. Just kidding....well, maybe.
This time I'm going to do my own make-up. Here in Abu Dhabi it's almost as hard to get a beautician as it is to get a Friday morning blow-out. I'm using my fall 2016 Chanel set that Matt got me for my birthday. My look needs to be fitting for a late summer day time brunch but still sufficiently smoky for our evening soiree.
Nails and brows
For nails and brows I'm going to try a salon in Dubai called the Dollhouse. It's about 45 minutes from home but I'm sure the drive will be well worth it. Check them out on Instagram @dollhousedubai. I will be getting my nails and brows done there as my lovely friend and brow expert Sarah Jane is about to have a baby so she's enjoying her maternity leave.
This week I had an amazing deep tissue massage at the Saadiyat St.Regis hotel (check it out: http://www.stregissaadiyatisland.com/) followed by a facial. A massage is always an excellent way to brain detox and is perfect during these hectic times. And a good facial really can make your skin look brighter and tighter. It was my first visit to the spa at the Saadiyat St. Regis spa and it was super-nice. I would definitely recommend it to those of you ladies here in the Emirates.
I've been maintaining my 5 gym sessions a week and managed a 9km run on Monday too. This is in part thanks to Hed Kandi 2016 which just gets me in the mood. I've been making sure that I'm eating really clean too.
Last but by no means least, I've been immac-ing our home too. I've been busy making sure all of the finishing touches to our recent renovations are completed and that those last few ornaments and pieces of finishing furniture have been procured. There have been cleaners, workmen and delivery guys here all week. All manner of things have been hung, buffed and polished in preparation for our wedding soirée next Friday. So exciting!
So if you are thinking of getting married, home or away, then away definitely has that added bonus of getting to wear your dress twice or in my case, 2 dresses 3 times.
Don't forget to enter the latest immaclife competition by sharing this blog on your Facebook page. The draw will be on Friday 14 October at the Kim Kardashian event at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel. Oh, did I mention I'm going to meet Kim K?
